User Provisioning

Introduction

User provisioning describes the mechanism by which Users are added to or removed from Karnov services via Entra ID Groups.

Group Status

Once a Group has been configured it will have a status of one of the following.

Synchronization Pending

A synchronization has yet to be completed for the group.

Synchronization Successful

The last synchronization attempt for the group was successful.

Synchronization Failed

The last synchronization attempt for the group failed. A record of the failure is written to the Synchronization Log

Synchronization Failed - Group not found

Pending Deletion

Removing a Group from Entra ID without also removing it from the Customer Portal will lead to failed synchronizations for that group.

If a Group fails synchronization for more than 24 hours, the Group will be scheduled for deletion in the Customer Portal. An automated email will be delivered to Customer Portal administrators with further details.

Group Pending Deletion

Synchronization Log

The Synchronization log shows the timestamp of the last successful synchronization.

Synchronization Log - Success

Any recent synchronization failures for groups are also displayed for debugging purposes.

Synchronization Log - Failure

De-provisioning

When a user is not a member of any groups, they are scheduled to be removed in 3 months. Adding the user back to a Group will cancel the scheduled removal.
